UTAH WEDDING VENUES

Finding the right venue is one of the first steps of planning a wedding, but with so many venues to choose from, the search can be overwhelming. Although not a comprehensive guide, this list some awesome Utah mountainous wedding venues to help you find what you'd love! Click on individual venues to learn more about their pricing, capacity, etc. And just because I've received multiple calls asking to set up a tour at various venues... I AM NOT A VENUE ;) I am a wedding photographer who photographs venues all over Salt Lake City and Park City.

Ceremonies unfold on a lawn—a gently sloping meadow edged by tall pines, a trout pond, and a wooden boardwalk that serves as the bridal processional. The lodge’s barn doors frame the aisle, so in poor weather the party can pivot indoors.

Last Chance Barn

Moonbeam’s ceremonies are held close to a large parking lot, making it very easy for guest arrivals. The primary ceremony site is the upper deck—an amphitheater-like perch with lodge-pole railings, a clock-tower backdrop, and shots of the ski runs.

Moonbeam Lodge

Just outside the stone-and-timber St. Bernard’s restaurant, a lawn sits  bordered by Little Cottonwood Creek and framed by aspens.

St. Bernard's

My personal favorite place at Solitude! Accessible by a seven-minute chairlift ride, the Roundhouse sits at 8,700 feet on a ridgeline that yields 270-degree canyon views. Ceremonies are held on a manicured lawn wrapped in aspen trees. Receptions are held in the newly rebuilt lodge with a circular stone hearth.

Solitude

Guests ride up Snowbird's Tram to get to a venue at the top of the mountain. The ceremony site shows off dramatic, panoramic peaks. For couple's photos, you can access similar views from various patios. The inside of the building has large, epic windows.

The Summit

The signature Snowbird hotel at the base of the resort. There are multiple ceremony and reception spots, but usually ceremonies have views of the green mountains and cliffs of Little Cottonwood. Receptions are often inside a classic ski resort ballroom — polished, elegant, and very resort-forward.

Cliff Lodge

Snowbird

The BEST venue (where I got married). Everyone rides the gondola up to a lodge at the top of the mountain. The views during those 12 minutes up are spectacular. By the end of the night, you and your guests are the only ones at the top of the mountain (a dream). Ceremonies are held either on a dramatic mountaintop patio with jagged peaks or overlooking Ogden Valley and the reservoir. The building's interior has floor to ceiling windows, wood beams, massive chandeliers, and patterned floors.

Needle's Lodge

This lodge is at the base of the ski resort. Outdoor ceremonies are held on a pavilion looking out over the ski slopes. The lodge has multiple rooms to hold a reception - all are maximalist with large chandeliers, patterned floors, large windows, and light wood beams.

Earl's Lodge

Snowbasin

Ceremonies are on an outdoor lawn with pine trees in the background - not cliffs or mountain peaks. Receptions feel more playful and nostalgic — woodsy, casual, and very “old Brighton.”

Milly Chalet

Brighton

Ceremonies on the lawn have evergreen trees & hills in the background - similar (IMO) to the view at Snowpine Lodge. Receptions are held in a room with dark wood paneling, large windows, and balconies. The venue offers the ability to buy out the lodge, allowing a full-weekend family/friend reunion.

Alta Rustler's Lodge

The newest and least-rustic wedding venue at Alta. The background for outdoor ceremonies has evergreen trees & what I can only describe as a hill, as opposed to more of a "mountain"/cliff. Receptions are held in a luxury, white ballroom with high ceilings.

Snowpine Lodge

From the ceremony lawn, you’re looking straight at Mount Superior and the quartzite peaks that make Alta famous. The indoor space for receptions is rustic; the room has dark wood on walls, ceilings, and floors.

Alta Peruvian Lodge

Cermonies (and sometimes receptions) occur on large, outdoor deck with string lights & views of the ski slopes. The indoors is a traditional wood lodge dining room with fireplaces and low ceilings. Rooms 44 guests - which allows a full-weekend/friend reunion.

SALT LAKE CITY WEDDING VENUES

If you're balling on a budget (and okay with not having an indoor option in case of bad weather), Storm Mountain is the most beautiful spot at the most ridiculously cheap price. You can have ceremonies at the Amphitheater, set among dense pine trees with steep canyon walls. And then have receptions at Group Picnic Site. Unlike most venues, you can BYOB.

Storm Mountain

Ceremonies usually happen outside with tall pine trees and rugged canyon terrain behind the couple. Receptions can take place in the same outdoors or inside a rustic lodge dining room with wood paneling and a classic ski-cabin feel.

Silver Fork Lodge

Siempre is a newer venue with multiple gorgeous spaces, both indoors and outdoors. There are two outdoor ceremony sites. One is in front of a dome with terra cotta tiles and white columns. The other features panoramic valley views. Receptions take place inside an all-white, modern ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Siempre

Ceremonies are often held in the "Fragrance Garden" (aptly named) and you'll walk down the aisle on a winding path through beds of flowers. And actually say your vows under an arch of wisteria. Receptions often are held in the Orangerie, an indoor greenhouse which is lush and wonderful year-round. This is more of a "garden" wedding as opposed to "mountain," but the venue is right on the foothills of Salt Lake, so you can see peaks as well.

Red Butte Garden

In Millcreek Canyon, ceremonies are held in a large patio, surrounded by tall trees. Receptions can take place in the rustic indoors space, but often the ceremony space gets flipped during cocktail hour so guests can dine and dance outdoors and more fully enjoy the mountain.

Millcreek Inn

Set in Parley’s Canyon between Salt Lake City and Park City, this venue is tucked away in the mountains. There is nothing else next to your venue, but it still is conveniently accessible. Ceremonies and receptions are often held outdoors - next to cliffs, overlooking more mountain ranges, and beside a natural waterfall.

Louland Falls

Located in Millcreek Canyon, Log Haven wedding ceremonies happen in two main places: either 1) on a grassy lawn in front of a small pond or 2) on a wooden deck backed by tall trees in the canyon. Receptions are typically held in the outdoor courtyard, which feels enclosed by the log building and smells wonderful.

Log Haven

This is a French-inspired property with ponds, bridges, gardens, and willow trees. Ceremonies are usually in front of a vineyard with the Wasatch mountains in the background. Receptions take place in an elegant, greenhouse-like room.

La Caille

MOUNTAIN WEDDING VENUES - SALT LAKE CITY

Ceremonies are held on the Flagstaff terrace framed by stone architecture and mountain peaks. Receptions continue inside dining rooms and ballrooms — warmer and more classic ski-lodge than St. Regis.

Westgate Park City Resort & Spa

Ceremonies typically take place on the lawn or terrace with open meadow and mountain views. Receptions move into elegant ballrooms with a traditional luxury feel — more classic hotel wedding than mountaintop lodge.

Waldorf Astoria Park City

Ceremonies usually take place on a wooden bridge or alpine clearing surrounded by aspens, then cocktail hour spreads onto a large outdoor patio. Receptions usually move inside the large two-level lodge with big windows and space for dancing — it’s the biggest and most traditional “mountaintop wedding” experience.

Red Pine Lodge

Ceremonies are often held on the rooftop terrace with modern architecture and panoramic Wasatch views. Receptions continue in contemporary event spaces; it feels the most urban-luxury of the Park City venues (contrasting with rustic mountain character of other Park City wedding venues).

Pendry Park City

Ceremonies are held on the Flagstaff terrace framed by stone architecture and mountain peaks. Receptions continue inside dining rooms and ballrooms — warmer and more classic ski-lodge than St. Regis.

Mid-Mountain Lodge

Ceremonies happen on a small deck perched on Lookout Peak with full 360° Wasatch views. Receptions stay inside the cozy cabin dining room — this is the most intimate venue on the list and feels more like a private dinner party.

Lookout Lodge

Ceremonies take place at Alpine Meadows above the base area, then guests return to a spacious lodge with fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking ski runs. It’s the most accessible and convenient option — less “on top of the mountain” than Red Pine or Lookout, but easiest for large guest lists and non-skiers.

Legacy Lodge

Ceremonies usually take place in intimate courtyard or patio spaces framed by buildings and surrounding hills. Receptions are relaxed indoor banquet rooms — less grand than Waldorf or Pendry but comfortable and straightforward.

Hyatt Centric Park City

Park City

Ceremonies are held on the Flagstaff terrace framed by stone architecture and mountain peaks. Receptions continue inside dining rooms and ballrooms — warmer and more classic ski-lodge than St. Regis.

Stein Eriksen

Guests ride to the luxury hotel via funicular. Or access the venue directly from the ski slopes :) St. Regis can be the backdrop for any type of mountain look you'd want - terraces, lawns, outdoor tents, wood-paneled ballrooms, etc.

St. Regis

Ceremonies overlook the mid-mountain plaza with surrounding ski runs. Receptions are in airy lodge dining rooms with large windows. It is an option to have guests arrive via a scenic chairlift ride.

Silver Lake Lodge

Ceremonies typically take place on the grand mountain terrace overlooking Empire Canyon. Receptions move indoors to elegant ballrooms with tall ceilings and warm wood finishes; compared to other Deer Valley venues it’s the most luxurious and formal, feeling more like a high-end hotel wedding than a ski lodge gathering.

Montage

Ceremonies are usually held on the courtyard terrace with European alpine architecture surrounding you. Receptions continue inside a boutique-hotel dining space.

Goldener Hirsch

Located at the base of the spectacular Daly Chutes. There are multiple different decks and inside rooms for receptions, which have slate and granite fixtures, smooth cedar walls and vaulted ceilings.

Empire Canyon Lodge

Available in the Summer, Cushing’s Cabin is an intimate and secluded setting for any wedding ceremony because it is accessible via shuttle and/or chairlift. Ceremonies are held with a mountain peaks as the backdrop. The inside the building is rustic - walls and ceiling are covered with wood.
