Red Butte Garden Wedding Info & Cost

Venues are always changing their pricing and policies, so the information in this blog may be out-of-date. But as of Summer 2022 when I’m writing this…

Red Butte Garden is a wonderful wedding venue in Salt Lake City. Not only is the garden always beautiful, but it has wonderful mountain backdrops and is close to downtown Salt Lake for guest convenience. You’ll be surrounded my immaculate landscape design, blooming flowers, and modern architecture.

Seasonal Availability

Red Butte Garden has multiple sites available for reservation. A list of the spaces they offer and availability can be found respectively at www.redbuttegarden.org/rental-sites/ and www.redbuttegarden.org/rental-availability/

The Richard K. Hemingway Orangerie is an indoor garden that is available year-round. It has plants and citrus trees and smells absolutely amazing. It’s a great way to include greenery and nature, even in the more wintery months.

The Rose Garden & Rose house are available May through October.

The Eccles Terrace is available May through September.

They do not hold events when summer concerts are happening in the amphitheater.

Capacity:

The Orangerie can accommodate 150 seated guests, a 400 Reception, or 180 theater-Style.

The Rose House can accommodate 80 seated guests or 100 guests theater-style.

The Eccles Terrace can accommodate 190 seated guests and a 350 Reception.

Ceremony Site:

Many wedding ceremonies take place in the Fragrance Garden. You’ll share vows under a Wisteria arbor. With meandering sandstone pathways, your “aisle” in the Fragrance Garden will be epic and smell wonderful.

The Orangerie is a lush indoor garden space. Many couples will follow their ceremony with cocktails and a sit-down dinner here. But you can also use this space for a ceremony.

The Rose Garden is also a wonderful place to hold a wedding ceremony. There are rose arbors, a big lawn and even a waterfall nearby. Afterwards, the Rose House is usually the reception space of choice. It can also work as an indoor backup if weather threatens.

Reception Site:

Most receptions take place in either the Orangerie or the Rose House.

Getting Ready Location:

The Orangerie has small “bride” and “groom” rooms for dropping off stuff and getting ready. However, these places are small and time there is limited, so I recommend getting ready elsewhere.

Set Up Time:

You and your vendors are granted access two hours before and one hour after the time slot.

Vendor Flexibility:

Other than choosing from a given list of caterers and bar service providers, you can bring in any vendor of your choosing.

Venue Coordinator:

Red Butte Garden has a day-of coordinator and event staff to help your day run smoothly. They encourage couples to consider hiring a wedding planner, should they need further planning assistance.

Food & Alcohol:

All food and beverage services must be provided by one of the following caterers.

Parking:

Parking is ample and included in your event cost.

Lodging:

There is no on-site lodging, but there are plenty of nearby options in Salt Lake City.

Pet Policy:

Only service animals are allowed inside Red Butte Garden.
