The Cathedral of the Madeleine Wedding Information & Cost
Venues are always changing their pricing and policies, so the information in this blog may be out-of-date. But as of January 2023 when I’m writing this…
The Cathedral of the Madeleine was begun in the year 1900 and completed in 1909. It is (objectively) the most beautiful Catholic Cathedral in Salt Lake City. Wedding celebrations are available at the Cathedral to all who are Catholic. At least one of the couple must be a Catholic.
Weddings are celebrated on Saturdays except during Advent and Lent.
331 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah
The suggested donation for a wedding is $1,200 for those who live in Utah and $1,800 for those who are coming from out of State. The donation is for the services of the organist, cantor, wedding coordinator along with the donation to the Cathedral.
See photo below 😉
Receptions must be held elsewhere.
There are rooms in the back where you can get ready and drop bags.
There are 2 weddings available per day – at 11:00AM or 1:30PM.
You are free to work with any wedding photographer and florist of your choosing.
The Cathedral will have employees present to coordinate with your photographer and remain present during your wedding mass.
Parking at the Cathedral of the Madeleine is ample.
There is no on-site lodging, but this is in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City so there are many places nearby to stay.
Pets are not allowed.
Your photographer is not allowed in the center aisle to capture people coming down the aisle. They will have to shoot from a side angle.
The first step to securing a day and time is an interview with the priest. Please contact Fr. Martin Diaz at mdiaz@utcotm.org or Fr. Alredo Valdez at avaldez@utcotm.org
