St. Mary’s Catholic Church Wedding | November Wedding in Park City, Utah

November weddings in the mountains feel different — quieter and calmer. Park City in November sits right between seasons: the fall leaves are mostly gone, the air is crisp, and the mountains feel open and expansive before winter crowds arrive.
This wedding took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Park City, with a traditional ceremony and no reception afterward — just time set aside for portraits and family moments.
I photograph a lot of church weddings, and Catholic churches usually don’t have many windows — they’re beautiful, but often dark, and flash is frequently not allowed.
St. Mary’s is completely different.
I’ve honestly never seen a Catholic church with this much natural light. Large windows wrap the sanctuary, and because of Park City’s elevation and reflective surroundings, the light stays soft and even rather than harsh. The result is clean skin tones, bright images, and a ceremony that feels airy instead of dim.
From a photography perspective, that changes everything:
It’s one of the rare churches where the atmosphere translates perfectly into photographs.
After the ceremony we stepped outside for portraits, and this is where St. Mary’s location really stands out.
Right outside the church you immediately see the Park City ridgelines. The setting feels elevated but still natural — a mountain backdrop without needing to hike, coordinate transportation, or interrupt the flow of the day.
If you’re planning a St. Mary’s Catholic Church wedding in Park City, I’d love to help you create a photography plan that takes advantage of both the beautiful interior light and the mountain scenery right outside the doors.
