Alta Rustler Lodge Wedding Information & Cost
Venues are always changing their pricing and policies, so the information in this blog may be out-of-date. And much of this information comes directly from the venue’s website, but some was compiled from secondary sources. But as of 2026 when I’m writing this…

Alta’s Rustler Lodge is one of the most classic mountain wedding venues in Utah. Ceremonies on the lawn have evergreen trees & hills in the background. Receptions are room with dark wood paneling, large windows, and balconies.
The venue offers the ability to buy out the lodge, allowing a full-weekend family/friend reunion. You’re surrounded by peaks, wildflowers in summer, and dramatic terrain in every direction. Because guests stay on-site and the lodge can be fully reserved, the day naturally slows down. People linger on patios, gather around fireplaces, and the wedding feels immersive instead of scheduled.
You choose between a Friday or Saturday wedding. Or a Friday and Saturday buyout. Weddings are typically held during the summer alpine season (mid-summer through early fall) when Little Cottonwood Canyon is snow-free and accessible for guests.
Located at Alta Ski Area in Little Cottonwood Canyon, about 30–40 minutes from Salt Lake City.
Friday or Saturday Wedding – $15,000
Weekend Buyout – $25,000
The rental fee includes:
The venue can accommodate a maximum of 180 guests. For sit-down dinners we will serve 120 guests and anything above will be buffet.
Most ceremonies are on an outdoor lawn ceremony overlooking the mountains. The landscaped lawn has a wildflower gardens and a waterfall. The venues provides white lawn chairs.
There are several spaces available for receptions, both indoor and outdoor.
Private on-site rooms and suites allow both partners to get ready at the lodge without transportation logistics.
The venue handles all staffing for event set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, silver, china, glassware, and house linens.
Food and bar service are handled in-house, but outside vendors like photography, florals, and music are allowed.
The Rustler will have a wedding coordinator on the premises to assist with any venue questions. They recommend you hire a professional wedding planner.
The lodge offers plated and buffet service styles with traditional wedding dinner menus. There will be no outside food brought on our premises. Their chefs are willing to accommodate dietary preferences and provide a menu that meets your vision.
All beer, wine, and liquor must be purchased through the Rustler lodge. Prices are per drink.
On-site parking is available, though canyon driving conditions should be considered depending on season.
Guests can stay directly at the lodge, making the wedding feel like a destination weekend. Room minimum requirement depending on package purchased. There are 60 rooms total. 30 room requirement upon booking. And the couple has a complimentary wedding night suite.
They cannot accommodate pets. Per the Town of Alta’s ordinance, it is “unlawful to bring a dog within the boundaries of the Town, whether in a motor vehicle or otherwise.”
Feels intimate and immersive since everyone stays in one place and the mountains are immediately outside.
Less flexibility and higher overall cost due to lodging and required in-house services.
