Sundance Wedding Information & Cost

Venues are always changing their pricing and policies, so the information in this blog may be out-of-date. But as of 2025 when I’m writing this…

Sundance Mountain Resort gives you Robert Redford’s version of a mountain wedding: timber lodges tucked below 12,000-foot Mount Timpanogos, art-glass lanterns made in the onsite studio, and ceremony lawns laced with pine scent and the sound of Stewart Falls. Whether you host 40 guests at mountaintop Bearclaw Cabin or 180 in the glass-walled Rehearsal Hall, every backdrop is raw Wasatch wilderness softened by handcrafted details.

Sundance Location

The resort sits at 8841 N. Alpine Loop Rd., Sundance, UT 84604, about 50 minutes (41 mi) from Salt Lake City International Airport and 25 minutes northeast of Provo.

Sundance Wedding Seasonal availability

Sundance books weddings year-round. May–October offers wildflower meadows and open-air decks; November–April swaps grass for groomed runs, combine-harvester heaters, and snow-globe photos. Shoulder months (late Apr & early Nov) carry the lowest food-and-beverage minimums but some sites (Elk Meadows, Bearclaw) stay closed while lifts or roads are serviced.

Sundance Wedding Cost

  • Site fees: $4,000 peak-season reception / $3,000 off-peak
  • Ceremony add-on $3,000.
  • Catering packages: traditional buffet from $175/person, premier plated from $195/person; bar billed on consumption with a $300/bar minimum.

Sundance Wedding Capacity

Event spaces run 50 – 200 seated. Bearclaw Cabin maxes at 60, the Redford Conference Center at 150, and Rehearsal Hall or the Grand Lawn at 175–180.

The Ceremony Site

Popular options include the Grand Lawn beside Stewart Falls creek, the aspen-ringed Elk Meadows, and lift-served Mandan Summit—a ridgeline lookout reached by the Outlaw Express chair. All packages supply a cedar arbor, 180 white resin chairs, a battery PA, and power drops for string quartets.

The Reception Site

For indoor comfort, couples choose the timber-and-glass Rehearsal Hall (4 200 ft², 17-ft ceilings) or the Redford Conference Center with its wrap-around terrace and massive stone fireplace. Outdoor receptions spread across the flagstone patio beside the waterfall or the two-tier deck at Bearclaw with 360° valley views. House banquet tables, linens, china, and dance floor are bundled into the site fee.

Sundance Wedding Getting-Ready Location

Two private dressing suites inside the Rehearsal Hall open at 8 a.m.; larger parties often upgrade to a three-bedroom Mountain Home so hairstylists can work while photographers capture balcony first-look shots. Lodge rooms and mountain homes qualify for a discounted “wedding block” rate with early check-in on request.

Sundance Wedding Set-Up Time

House staff installs furniture and linens three hours before guest arrival; outside vendors may load through the service dock at the same time and have two hours after last call to strike. Music must end by 1 a.m. indoors and 10 p.m. outdoors.

Sundance Wedding Vendor Flexibility

Food, bar, and cake are strictly in-house, but you may hire any insured planner, florist, photographer, DJ, or live band. Sundance requires at least a day-of coordinator and proof of vendor insurance; amplified music is allowed indoors only.

Sundance Wedding Venue Coordinator

Your assigned resort event manager builds floor plans, menus, Banquet Event Orders, and lift schedules, then stays on-site through teardown. Your required outside planner handles décor installs, timelines, and guest movement.

Sundance Wedding Food & Alcohol

Food, bar, and cake are strictly in-house. Menus lean “mountain-modern”: Utah trout, bison Bolognese, cedar-plank salmon. All alcohol must be purchased and poured by Sundance under its banquet license; bars can run until 1 a.m. indoors.

Sundance Wedding Parking

Self-parking is free in three surface lots; valet is available for $20 per vehicle on request. Shuttle companies from SLC and Provo receive priority unloading at Creekside to avoid the tight canyon road.

Sundance Wedding Lodging

The resort offers over 100 lodging units—from studio suites to six-bedroom Mountain Homes—plus a spa, art studio, zip-line, and stargazing nights. Ten room-night blocks unlock 10 % off best-available rates and waive resort fees for the couple.

Sundance Wedding Pet Policy

Dog-friendly rooms welcome up to 2 dogs of any size for a flat $100 per stay; pups must stay leashed, cannot ride lifts, and may attend outdoor ceremonies with a handler. No cats.

Sundance Wedding Upsides

  • Year-round access without I-80 canyon traffic.
  • Onsite everything: lodging, spa, art classes, zip-line, hiking, skiing.
  • Pet-friendly so four-legged family can join the photos.

Sundance Wedding Downsides

  • In-house-only catering & bar keep budgets in resort territory.
  • Chairlift weather holds can delay mountaintop ceremonies.
  • Outdoor music curfew 10 p.m. and amplified sound indoors only.
  • Altitude (6 500 – 8 300 ft) may affect guests—stock water and oxygen cans.
