Millcreek Inn Wedding Information & Cost

Venues are always changing their pricing and policies, so the information in this blog may be out-of-date. But as of 2025 when I’m writing this…

Nestled in the pines, streams, and wildflowers of Millcreek Canyon, getting married at Millcreek Inn is a gorgeous way to show off the mountains of Utah.

Location:

Millcreek Inn sits three miles up Millcreek Canyon—about a 20-minute drive from downtown Salt Lake City—so you get a true mountain backdrop (towering pines, a rushing creek, sheer canyon walls) without stranding guests far from the airport or hotels.

Cost:

The facility fee depends on season, day of the week, and time of day. There a $350 fee for ceremonies and reception + the below numbers. There is an “am rental time” from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. And also a “pm rental time” from 4:00 – 11:00 pm. There is also a 20% service charge to the entirety of your bill.

If you want to have your ceremony only at Millcreek Inn, you can do so from 10:00am – 1:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for a total of $3,000.

Capacity:

Outdoors the patio and garden lawn handle up to 250 guests for a standing reception or about 160 seated; inside the wood-beam dining room tops out around 75 for a plated meal, making weather backup intimate but workable

Ceremony Site:

Most couples wed beneath the cedar arbor and raised stage on the flagstone patio, ringed by aspens strung with café lights. Built-in power, house chairs, and a venue-provided sound system are included.

Reception Site:

Dinner and dancing flow between the same patio (tented and heated November–April) and the adjoining dining room with two stone fireplaces and picture windows. Guests can roam the garden paths under string lights, then duck inside for cake and a late-night fire

Getting Ready Location:

Private, fully stocked dressing suites—one for each side of the wedding party—come with vanities, steamer, emergency kit, private restrooms, and even complimentary fruit-and-cheese trays or a pre-ceremony champagne toast. Each has a discrete entrance so the couple can avoid a first-look mishap.

Set Up Time:

Your rental block already includes load-in, set-up, and clean-up by the venue team; because you have exclusive use of the property, vendors can arrive right at the start of the 9 a.m. or 4 p.m. window. If you would like more time for setup & there is not another event already scheduled, you can get more time at an additional $200 per hour.

Vendor Flexibility:

Food and bar service must run through Millcreek Inn, but you’re free to hire any florist, photographer, DJ, or décor team you like—the venue simply offers a vetted preferred-vendor list if you want a shortcut.

Venue Coordinator:

An in-house coordinator is bundled into every contract, handling rehearsal, timelines, décor placement, and rainy-day pivots.

Food & Alcohol:

Chef-driven menus cover plated, buffet, and brunch options, and outside food isn’t allowed except cakes. Butler passed appetizers start at $17.95/person. The plated dinner menu starts at $48.95/person. Buffet dinner menu starts at $45.95/person. An open-house reception buffet starts at $39.95/person. Utah law means the Inn must also run the bar (starting around $8 pp), so no self-serve coolers—on the upside, they carry the license, insurance, and bartenders.

Parking:

There is plenty of parking and the Inn also validates the $5 canyon toll for every vehicle.

Lodging:

There is no overnight rooms sit on property, but the venue has negotiated rates (and complimentary shuttles) with several hotels 7–10 miles away, including Hyatt Place Holladay and Hampton Inn Foothill Drive—handy for late-night returns down the canyon.

Pet Policy:

Millcreek Canyon is famously dog-friendly, and the Inn allows well-mannered pups to join the ceremony and mingle on the patio, provided you leash them and clean up. Many couples even sneak their dog onto the dance floor.

Just More Details:

Also included in the facility fee is the set-up and clean-up of tables, chairs, china, silverware, canopy, and more! Standard ivory, white, or black table linens and linen napkins will be provided for your event as needed.
