Hailstone Event Center Wedding Information & Cost
Venues are always changing their pricing and policies, so the information in this blog may be out-of-date. But as of 2025 when I’m writing this…
Set on a bluff above Jordanelle Reservoir in Park City, the Hailstone Event Center sits just off US-40 Exit. The sweeping Wasatch views + the water are epic.

The park keeps pricing refreshingly simple: a flat $4,000 rental secures the entire event center (Atrium, Hall, Trout Room, catering kitchen, patios, and lawn).
Indoors the Atrium + Hall seat up to 220; open the glass doors to the lawn and patio and the site accommodates ≈ 500 guests flowing between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Most couples say “I do” on the center’s lake-front lawn, framed by the reservoir below and the snow-capped Uinta and Wasatch ranges beyond. Use the venue’s steel arch and teak chairs (included) for up to 500 seated, then slip onto nearby trails or the marina dock for golden-hour portraits.
Floor-to-ceiling windows in the vaulted Hall keep the mountains in view while hardwood floors and a wrap-around porch create natural zones for dining, dancing, and late-night stargazing. Tables, chairs, café sets, two propane grills, a mobile bar, indoor/outdoor sound, and even a decorative arch come in the rental bundle.
There’s no dedicated bridal suite, but the light-filled Trout Room—normally a conference space—banks a private restroom, mirrors, and seating for 45, and Wedding Spot lists both a bride’s and groom’s dressing area among the standard amenities. Many parties also book a lakeside cabin or RV site so the wedding party can spread out.
Generous load-in windows are baked into the fee: 6 hours the day before for décor build-out, a full 12-hour event day, and 6 hours the morning after for strike and cleaning. Few Utah venues at this price point offer that much breathing room.
The park lets you bring any licensed caterer, florist, DJ, or planner you like; the rental even waives entry fees for those vendors. Outdoor or food-truck catering is common, and you’re free to supply your own décor without exclusivity contracts.
A state-park staffer unlocks the building, oversees facilities, and answers questions, and Wedding Spot notes a day-of coordinator is included—but you (or a hired planner) handle the master timeline, vendor wrangling, and décor installations.
With a prep kitchen on site, outside caterers have everything they need. BYO alcohol is allowed—a rarity in Utah—so long as a licensed bartender serves and you carry event-liability coverage; the PDF checklist even reminds renters to secure “alcohol insurance (if needed).”
The $4K fee covers every guest’s park-entrance charge, and the adjacent surface lot handles hundreds of vehicles within a two-minute, fully ADA-accessible walk to the front doors—no canyon shuttles or valet bills required.
Guests who like the outdoors can book one of 103 RV sites, 4 tent loops, 5 cabins, or 3 cottages inside the Hailstone area, all overlooking the water. Prefer hotel comforts? Park City and Heber City hotels sit 10–15 minutes away and often run shuttles for group blocks.
Dogs are welcome on leash throughout the Hailstone Recreation Area, including the ceremony lawn and beaches, but they’re not allowed inside the event-center building or restrooms—so plan a handler to escort Fido out before dinner starts.
Flat-fee pricing, BYO flexibility, and 18-hour load-in/out windows make budgeting straightforward; the combination of lake, mountain peaks, and fiery sunset light delivers blockbuster photos without resort prices; and plentiful parking plus on-site camping keeps logistics simple for guests of all ages.
DIY freedom also means more coordination work for you or an outside planner.
Download the rental permit from the Utah State Parks website or call the park office at 435-649-9540. A signed permit plus the $500 deposit locks your date, and the calendar opens 11 months out—summer Saturdays often disappear the morning they’re released.
