Alta Peruvian Lodge Wedding Cost & Information
Venues are always changing their pricing and policies, so the information in this blog may be out-of-date. But as of 2025 when I’m writing this…
Alta Peruvian Lodge sits at 8,500 feet in Little Cottonwood Canyon. From the ceremony lawn you’re looking straight at Mount Superior and the quartzite peaks that make Alta famous.
10000 E. Little Cottonwood Canyon Rd., Alta, Utah.
Wedding season runs from June through September. The first two weeks of June may or may not be ideal for outdoor ceremonies, depending on the level of snowmelt.
The lodge keeps pricing simple: a flat $10,000 venue fee secures exclusive use of the dining room, Alf Engen Meeting Room, outdoor grounds, dressing suites, tables, chairs, basic A/V, and a full day-before / day-after setup window. There are no food-and-beverage minimums.
Indoors or out, you can host up to 200 guests seated or standing. Reviews from past Alta Peruvian Lodge Couples note 165-175 is the sweet spot in the dining room.
Most couples say “I do” on the expansive front lawn—a natural amphitheater of wildflowers and lodge-pole pines with uninterrupted mountain views. Wooden benches or the venue’s teak chairs are included, and the lodge lets you decorate the day before, so you can install an arch, drape string lights, or stage a live folk trio without rushing.
Receptions flow inside to the vintage ski-lodge dining hall: knotty-pine walls, vaulted beams, and picture windows that frame alpenglow after sunset. A side lounge converts to a dance floor, while the Alf Engen Room works for buffets or dessert spreads. Thanks to thick walls and distant neighbors, amplified music can run until 2 a.m. if you want an after-midnight party.
Two full dressing suites—one off the dining room, one near the meeting room—come with mirrors, private restrooms, garment racks, and lounge seating. Because you have access the day before, hair and-makeup teams can stage early without bumping into catering load-in.
The Peruvian is closed to skiers in summer, so it hands you the keys: arrive a day or two early to decorate, no hard curfew the night of, and six-plus hours the next morning to strike. Few Utah mountain venues offer that breathing room, and it’s baked into the fee.
It’s one of the only Alta venues that’s truly DIY-friendly—bring any caterer, florist, planner, DJ, or rental company you like. They get access to the commercial kitchen for staging, and the lodge staff sets tables and chairs you supply.
A lodge events manager unlocks the building, provides a layout, and serves as a day-of, on-site liaison.
You can hire food trucks, BBQ smokers, or fine-dining caterers and stock the bar yourself. Utah law requires a licensed bartender, and draft kegs must be purchased through the lodge or your caterer.
A large surface lot directly in front of the lodge offers free self-parking for every guest—rare for canyon venues—and the rental automatically covers any Alta parking permit requirements.
The hotel rooms are closed in summer, so no one can stay on site. Little Cottonwood Canyon supplies a list of nearby options—Snowbird’s Cliff & Lodge (15 min), Alta Lodge (5 min), or Park City condos (35 min)—and many couples arrange shuttles to avoid canyon DUI checkpoints.
Little Cottonwood Canyon is a protected watershed—no dogs or other pets are allowed anywhere in Alta, even in cars. ADA-defined service animals are the sole exception, and fines are steep.
Email events manager Todd Collins (collins@altaperuvian.com) or call 800-453-8488. A signed agreement and $5,000 deposit lock your date; the calendar opens one year out, and prime July–August Saturdays typically book within days.
