Utah State Capitol Wedding Information & Cost
Venues are always changing their pricing and policies, so the information in this blog may be out-of-date. But as of March 2023 when I’m writing this…
350 State St, Salt Lake City, UT 84103
Having a wedding at the Utah State Capitol has the below fees:
The Rotunda is on the main floor of the building and is a beautiful and spacious indoor room full of history and symbolism. It fits 500 guests and 320 guests seated at tables. It costs $2,000 for an event Monday-Thursday and $2,300 for an event Friday–Sunday.
The Plaza is on the south-east side of the building with a beautiful view of Salt Lake City and the surrounding mountains. It fits 1,000 guests and costs $1,300.
The Capitol has various meeting rooms that you can reserve, but the Capitol is so close to downtown Salt Lake City. I recommend getting ready at a more beautiful, private place within Salt Lake.
All event spaces must use an approved caterer for any food or drink. Caterers that are not currently approved must be approved no later than 30 days prior to the event. A list of currently approved caterers is below:
Consumption, distribution or open storage of alcohol is prohibited.
Parking is ample.
The Capitol is so close to downtown Salt Lake City. Guests should plan to stay somewhere there.
Dogs are not allowed inside the building, but allowed on the outside grounds.
Unlike many other venues, chairs and tables are not included in the price to reserve the space. A list & pictures of items available to rent can be found here: https://utahstatecapitol.utah.gov/scheduling/equipment-rentals
