Ingrid and Josue’s Navy Blue Wedding

I counted down the minutes until I could open my computer and look through these images. I did so at the soonest opportunity and what I saw did not disappoint. I was filled with so many emotions– laughter, awe, and everything in between– going through their pictures. I don’t think that anyone who sees how happy Ingrid and Josue are can do anything but smile themselves.

Ingrid and Josue met in Peru and came to the Bay Area together. Unfortunately, since they got married so far from home, many of the important people in their lives were unable to be present. However, during the ceremony, their guests proactively ensured that this special day was shared with family back in Peru. They live-streamed the action on their phones through FaceTime. I love that this wedding was able to be global so everyone important in their lives was still involved.

You wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at how Josue glowed once with his wife, but he was super nervous just prior to the ceremony. He sat alone in a storage room just trying to relax. I’m glad he was able to have a moment to himself before the nonstop action that followed the rest of the day.

This wedding was just so much fun. During the bridal party photos, the groomsmen were tossing the ring bearer, Xavier, into the air. All the men were confident that they could do the same for Josue, but when they tried, they could barely toss him a foot up. As is a Peruvian tradition, guests pinned money to the newlyweds and got to take turns dancing with them. Ingrid’s brother and sister wrote and sang a song for the happy couple. And during the reception, the kids were the highlight of the dancing. They totally rocked out to the music with air guitars and break dancing.

Ingrid and Josue, thank you so much for being such lovely humans. I can’t wait to share all your images with you soon but in the meantime, enjoy these peeks and rest of your honeymoon!
