Chad’s family has a place in Utah by the Jordanelle. He told me that he was bringing his girlfriend to Park City for a ski trip and wanted to propose while here.

They were staying a few minutes away from our planned location, however Chad had a hard time getting Krista out the door since she didn’t know that she needed to be anywhere before their dinner reservation which wasn’t for a while. Chad told her that she wanted to go on a walk around the Jordanelle and later, after Krista had the ring on her finger, recalled to her friends that she thought Chad was so dumb for wanting to go on a walk when it was so cold!

As a result, they showed up about an hour after our planned time and I was so grateful to see them when they finally rolled in! The sun was going down and I was starting to sweat because I couldn’t discretely capture a candid proposal with flash… It was a big relief that Chad popped the question right as the sun was going down.

I don’t recall Krista actually ever saying yes… She just started punching Chad lol.
